Finding a Program

One goal of the Oklahoma Afterschool Network is helping individuals find existing afterschool programs in their communities.  We are in the process of developing an interactive map that will allow you to search different programs in your area and throughout the state of Oklahoma.  Until this project is completed, here are other ways to find programs:

The Afterschool Alliance's Find an Afterschool Progam page is a great way to get tips for finding  an afterschool program, what to do when there's not an afterschool program, where to begin  looking, who to contact, and more.

Contact the Child Care Resource and Referral Association. The Oklahoma Child Care Resource & Referral Association supports and works with eight regional resource and referral agencies (R & R agencies) across the state that help parents find the right child care in their local communities.

OK_DHS Use the Department of Human Services Child Care Locator to find child care in your area. Oklahoma DHS also has a checklist that helps you assess quality and other factors of the child care programs you are visiting.  If you are interested in licensing requirements for child care centers, part-day programs, camps and more, click here.

Talk to your child's school administrator(s) about any afterschool programs they offer.  Don't forget, there may be ways for YOU to get involved as well!

Consider local community colleges, faith-based organizations, your local library, and other city/community facilities for afterschool possibilities.
